*Eric talks like he builds Chinese running-shoes, and he really believes that everyone who buys those shoes ought to lace them up and run marathons

@bruces I thought he talked more like he builds expensive running shoes because he thinks there is a market for people who fantasize about running marathons while they are pushing their cart through the grocery store.

@bruces Nevertheless he's spot on for 99% of the buyers. Also that particular shitfluencer video he chose as a backdrop is a gem.

Cosplaying tacticool and workshop aesthetics without ever having spend significant time using the gear.

Wait till you see it.

Imagen adjunta: Framecap of the video linked in the quoted post. The presenter in the lower half (male wearing glasses, short black hair), is quoting a tacticool video shown in the upper half. Two males in "masculine" clothing (details irrelevant) in workshop, some gear (also irrelevant) on the table in front of them. In the back is a wall rack/shelf organizer for various tools. There's something peculiar about that…

Imagen adjunta: Crop of and on a part of the tool rack in the background. It's mostly wrenches, about 15 of them, hanging on the tool rack. They're all almost the same size (from the looks somewhere about 18 mm or 0.75 inch¹. In no workshop where actual work is done you'd see that. ¹: inch sized wrenches are usually specified by a fraction, which makes them tedious to sort, since the numerator and denominator jump all over the place.
