Renovation of buildings is essential for energy and climate action. The Commission’s Joint Research Centre is building an open source Digital Building Stock Model (DBSM) – a detailed map of Europe's buildings.

Researchers are already using it to:
🔹 estimate rooftop solar potential
🔹 explore links between building conditions and socioeconomic vulnerability
🔹 estimate the risks of floods and other disasters.
