Austria and Finland have successfully done two live transactions through the Once Only Technical System (OOTS) in healthcare and the recognition of professional qualifications.
The OOTS is the EUโs secure infrastructure for government-to-government data exchange across borders ensuring that EU citizens and businesses submit documents just once, without downloading from one authority and uploading to another.
Digital sovereignty becomes real when it can be measured and applied.
The Commission's Cloud Sovereignty Framework provides practical criteria for evaluating cloud services and shows how public procurement can strengthen Europe's digital resilience.

@leanderlindahl newly created user accounts are subject to a moderation step before they are activated. This review checks elements such as the email domain and registration details to prevent spam or fake accounts (e.g. suspicious domains), to ensure the account looks legitimate and to avoid misuse of the platform before it is activated. We checked with colleagues and they confirmed that your account has been activated :)

The Commission recently finalised the EUR 180 million sovereign cloud procurement for the EU institutions. โ๏ธ
Due to strong interest from public administrations and IT providers, we published further clarification on Cloud Sovereignty Framework โ a key tool that we created to evaluate sovereignty of the offers.
With this framework, sovereignty stopped being an abstract policy discussion, and it became an operational requirement in public procurement.
Renovation of buildings is essential for energy and climate action. The Commissionโs Joint Research Centre is building an open source Digital Building Stock Model (DBSM) โ a detailed map of Europe's buildings.
Researchers are already using it to:

๐น explore links between building conditions and socioeconomic vulnerability
๐น estimate the risks of floods and other disasters.

The Once-Only Technical System connects the national population registers and public authorities of EU Member States, allowing them to directly exchange population evidences, such as birth or marriage certificates, or proofs of citizenship.
This saves users from needing to find, check, download and re-upload the same evidence to complete a procedure.
